According to the NY Daily News,
The White House recently announced that the Vice President would be attending campaign events in “Road Island.”

Sorry, but there is no screenshot of the offending press release, though I do have one here where someone at the White House evidently thinks that he/she works at the “White Hosue”.
Seriously, everyone can make typos and spelling mistakes, but when they keep cropping up in the same office, it speaks of major problems that flow from the top down. Either the people working there are totally incompetent, or on crack.
You decide.

Road Island. My God in heaven.
You know, I keep thinking that Obama is intentionally perpetrating crimes against the U.S. as a means of destroying it, that he’s not just some clueless idiot. But then, there’s a lot of evidence that he and his are indeed only a bunch of clueless idiots.
Then again, I am convinced that stupidity is in and of itself evil, so it really doesn’t matter why the man does what he does.
“Road Island”?
This is the President of the United States, a Harvard Law graduate? Come on… he really is an imposter, right?
If not, who is he and what is he doing? Does he know?
Obama’s been replaced by a robot, and is now on vacation somewhere in the West Indies. I thought everyone knew that.
Well, these folks are all Roads Scholars right?

Everybody makes errors. But, when White House allows an error this nature to go public, it is an embarrassment for all Americans.
WPRI in Providence was able to get a copy, if not a screenshot, of the memo: http://blogs.wpri.com/2012/02/20/vp-bidens-staff-says-hes-coming-to-road-island-this-week/
It’s also interesting that the original NY Daily News story compares the Veep’s confusion over the name of one of the 57 states to the Santorum camp’s misspelling of a 13,000-person town.
Thanks for the link. I saw that in the Daily News story. Odd–but telling–that they wanted to find some sort of equivalence. I guess that to the editors of the Daily News, “Rhode Island” is every bit as exotic and difficult to spell as “Bemidji”.
