In this episode, Francis Schaeffer comes to the crux of the series: That since we have entered into the age on non-reason and no fixed moral values, modern society is without a compass. It has only two values that it still clings to: personal peace and affluence. That is, people want to be left alone at all costs, and no longer care about what happens to the person across the street; and, people want to fulfill their desires for personal comfort and luxury at all costs.
What freedoms are people willing to give up for the sake of personal peace and affluence?
