McConnell Rails Against Tea Party “Bullies” Who Need “A Punch In The Nose”

In a conference call on October 30, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell had some strong words for the Tea Party. According to a source reporting to Breitbart News,

McConnell said the Tea Party was ‘nothing but a bunch of bullies … And he said ‘you know how you deal with schoolyard bullies? You punch them in the nose and that’s what we’re going to do.’

McConnell  apparently went out of his way to attack Ted Cruz and Mike Lee by name, but saved much of his venom for Ted Cruz.

Given that Harry Reid has just unleashed the nuclear option against the filibuster (or “againts” the “fillibuster”, according to his staff) in order to ram judicial nominations down the throat of the GOP, McConnell’s comments are indicative of everything wrong with the man. It is certainly true that he made those comments a month ago, and Reid acted this week. At the same time, he seems much more willing to go after fellow Republicans who rock the boat than after Democrats who are willing to break rules in order to bully the American people.

And McConnell wonders why conservatives don’t trust him?
